Job Description
The Strategic Marketing & Communications Specialist / Sr. Specialist develops and delivers AECOM's brand and marketing strategy and plan. They use a variety of channels and tactics (including digital) to strengthen the company’s brand, increase positive awareness of the company, and achieve business objectives. This position is responsible for the delivery and measurement of: campaigns, public relations, events, marketing content, social media and product marketing to support work winning and client retention.
This position will offer some flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, and can be based from a variety of locations in the US.
Job Summary
Has an extensive and strong marketing industry network. Understands and utilizes new marketing tools and techniques
Produces high quality content across websites, brochures, PR, thought-leadership, blogs and other channels in line with business strategy
Drives digital strategy for a campaign, function, region or business line. Uses knowledge of CRM systems (such as Salesforce, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud) and digital marketing channels and tools to achieve business objectives
Makes tactical decisions on and prioritizes marketing activities
Captures and maintains marketing data and generates relevant reports. Develops insights, provides recommendations and makes decisions about marketing activity
Contributes to and implements strategic marketing plans. Determines channels and tactics to meet business objectives
Manages a marketing budget for specific campaign, business line or regional marketing activity and reports performance to internal stakeholders
Initiates novel marketing approaches and shares outcomes with wider marketing team
Communicates effectively within the marketing team and across teams to clarify objectives, targets and expectations
Partners with client account management, growth and proposal management teams to develop strategic marketing campaigns
Responsible for results of marketing activity
Manages own workload, communicating priorities and progress to internal stakeholders for a function, region or business line
Technical / Functional Expertise:
Applies advanced understanding of concepts, industry knowledge and technical capabilities
Possesses in-depth technical or functional knowledge in area of expertise
Undertakes assignments outside the core skill set to expand expertise
Supervision:
- Works independently with latitude to determine work priorities and receives guidance on overall project objectives
Accountability & Impact:
Accountable for the results of a project or process
Impact of work is typically on project or process delivery with regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders and across business areas or functions
Complexity & Problem-Solving:
Analyzes complex issues and recommends solutions which may lead to improvements in methodologies
Uses judgement outside defined parameters and precedents to make decisions
Communication / People Skills:
Conveys complex or sensitive information, topics and concepts with internal and external stakeholders
Persuades others to consider various options
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
For Specialist:
- BA/BS plus at least 6 years of relevant marketing & communications experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
For Sr. Specialist:
- BA/BS plus at least 8 years of relevant marketing & communications experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal marketing training or qualification (e.g. CIM).
Global organization experience preferable but not essential.
Proven experience with brand, marketing strategy (development & delivery), business development, and client account management and marketing communications
Experience developing & implementing strategic marketing initiatives and campaigns with a focus on pre-positioning and capture.
