Your Impact
Large-scale adoption of zero-emissions technology is still in its early stages, and presents exciting technical, organizational, and logistical challenges. Zero-emissions fleet adoption will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, significant financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful execution.
Jacobs is expanding our team to tackle the complexities of transportation decarbonization for some of the largest fleet operators in the world.
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Transportation Facilities Design Lead, someone who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running on time and within budget. Based in the Los Angeles area, you’ll be managing exciting and engaging infrastructure projects focused on zero-emissions transportation, specifically maintenance and operation facilities. You will be engaging with our existing clients, as well as supporting pursuits for new work in the broader zero-emissions transportation space.
You will be one of the company’s key contacts with clients and you’ll ensure overall work progress and technical performance on projects. You will manage teams in the completion of required activities including some or all or some of the following: facility assessments, transportation planning, building space programing, site selection, facility concept development, building design, or field inspections. A knowledge of vehicle maintenance equipment (rail, bus, or other vehicles) and transportations operations would be useful but not mandatory.

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or applicable discipline and/or equivalent experience)
Professional Certification in CA required
At least 15 years’ experience in professional consulting, at a transportation agency, or in another relevant environment including at least 10 years managing a team on transportation facilities projects, ideally in zero-emissions
Strong technical, design, and project management skills in relevant areas including operation and maintenance facilities design, construction, renovation, and/or operations
Experience with zero-emissions transportation projects is a plus
Progressive Design Build or Design Build delivery experience is a plus
Excellent communication, time management and report writing skills
Great mentorship and leadership skills
