Job Description
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining and organizing personnel files, handling inquiries related to standard HR policies, and facilitating the onboarding process. This role involves processing paperwork for employee changes and acting as a liaison with external benefits providers. The coordinator will also assist with HR reports and participate in process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, and documentation.
Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes, referring complex questions to Sr-level HR staff or management.
Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Conduct or assist with new hire orientation and onboarding.
Process required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, status, salary increases, terminations, and other related employment matters.
Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, including health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
Assist the Human Resource Manager with complex and specialized administrative tasks or projects.
Process forms and claims, such as verification of employment, EDD forms/claims, garnishments, and child support orders.
Assist with the preparation of Human Resource reports, such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
Reset system passwords.
Participate in meetings and group sessions as required.
Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of experience in a human resources role preferred, open to 6-12 months
Experience working with ADP or other payroll systems
Strong onboarding knowledge, including I-9 and MVRs
Employee file creation and organization
Ability to drive projects from inception to completion
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or equivalent preferred
Relevant certifications or licenses
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, at an undisclosed location that houses HR and Talent Acquisition. The role offers an opportunity to transition from a contract to hire position within a well-established nonprofit organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
