UCLA Health Graduate Administrative Intern - Marketing and Patient Navigation & Business Services (PNBS) in Los Angeles, California
Description
Under the general supervision of the preceptor and executive
sponsor, the Graduate Administrative Intern supports performance improvement
initiatives, project management activities, complex analyses, and the
development of organizational policies, procedures, and cost‑benefit
evaluations across the Health System. The intern is responsible for completing
assigned tasks accurately and on time, conducting research, and providing
administrative support as needed. Participation in departmental meetings is
expected to enhance learning and overall internship experience.
This internship provides hands‑on exposure within Marketing
and Patient Navigation, Business Services (PNBS). The intern will
contribute to projects that directly support organizational growth, including
strategic marketing initiatives, enterprise-level business planning, and cross‑functional
goal development. This role is ideal for individuals interested in the
intersection of healthcare operations, strategy, and marketing, with a desire
to make a meaningful, system‑wide impact.
Key Responsibilities
Graduate Administrative Interns will engage in a variety of
professional, developmental, and experiential activities, including but not
limited to:
Department‑scoped projects serving in a variety of operational or analytical roles
Cohort‑based and team‑based project work
Experiential learning, shadowing, and facility tours
Journal clubs and intern‑led educational sessions
Active participation in building a collaborative, inclusive intern cohort culture
Program Overview
The UCLA Health Graduate Administrative Internship is a
hands‑on, action‑oriented program designed to provide exposure to core areas of
healthcare delivery. Interns will:
Work directly with senior leaders and project sponsors
Participate in a variety of enterprise‑wide initiatives
Observe and learn from operations across the health system
Contribute to high‑impact projects aligned with organizational priorities
At the conclusion of the internship, interns will present
their project work to UCLA Health senior leadership, demonstrating the
knowledge, skills, and insights gained throughout the program.
This year's program offers internship opportunities across
several key departments. Each intern will be paired with a department preceptor
who will guide project work and professional development. The full intern
cohort will also participate in shadowing experiences, executive‑facilitated
discussions, and community‑building activities.

Qualifications
If you are enrolled in a Master's degree program in health care administration, business administration, nursing, public health, health informatics, or a related field with a projected graduation in or after September 2026, you are eligible to apply to become a UCLA Health Administrative Intern.
