About the Role

MiniMed is seeking a dynamic and strategic Trade Operations Program Director to lead global trade compliance and operational excellence initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and executing trade strategies across key areas such as HS classification, Country of Origin, Free Trade Agreements, and trade management systems. The Director will oversee a high-performing team, ensure regulatory compliance across global geographies, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive efficiency and alignment with business objectives. This is a high-impact leadership role that supports MiniMed’s mission to improve lives through innovative healthcare technology.

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Develop and implement global strategies for HS classification, Country of Origin, Free Trade Agreements, and trade systems.

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of trade professionals supporting regional and functional trade groups.

  • Provide strategic recommendations and updates to senior leadership to align trade operations with business goals.

  • Plans, schedules and routes imports and exports, including monitoring the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, ensuring related customer service, brokerage and customs transaction compliance.

Compliance Oversight & Execution

  • Design and execute trade procedures, training programs, and data validation processes and global policies.

  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations across geographies and content areas.

  • Manage trade audits, investigations, and corrective actions related to key trade compliance areas.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with corporate stakeholders including Tax, Regulatory, Finance, Data & Analytics, IT, and Logistics.

  • Collaborate and lead cross functional teams on Trade related policy developments and program execution.

  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to enhance visibility and accountability

Training & Change Management

  • Create and implement training materials to ensure global adherence to trade requirements.

  • Lead change management initiatives across imports, exports, and regional/functional teams.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant trade operations experience and 7+ years of managerial experience,

OR

Advanced degree with 8+ years of relevant trade operations experience and 7+ years of managerial experience.

Nice to Have

  • Deep expertise in global Trade Operations & Compliance (Import, Export, Sanctions, Export Controls).

  • Experience with trade regulations, audits, and corrective action planning.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams.

  • Strategic mindset with data-driven decision-making capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.

  • Experience engaging external stakeholders, including government officials.

  • Ability to anticipate risks and opportunities using internal and external insights.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$169,600.00 - $254,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
