About the Role

As a CBRE Operations Manager, you will lead engineering and maintenance operations supporting a major telecommunications client across critical facilities in the Los Angeles area. This onsite role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, system reliability, regulatory compliance, and service delivery across complex building environments.

This position is part of CBRE’s Engineering & Technical Services function, which is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-performing facilities that support our client’s mission-critical operations. The Operations Manager serves as a key liaison between the client and CBRE teams, supporting strategic initiatives while maintaining high standards for facility management and customer satisfaction.

This role is not remote and requires the successful candidate to work onsite in the Los Angeles market.

What You’ll Do

  • Recommend, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with outside contractors, tenant improvement personnel, and internal technicians.

  • Lead all aspects of building systems operations, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, while staying current on HVAC and building systems technology trends.

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, tenants, owners, facility management teams, and service providers.

  • Assist in the solicitation and acquisition of new management and service contracts.

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including fires, evacuations, and major equipment failures, and resolve customer concerns.

  • Implement and administer inventory control programs and procure parts, materials, and supplies as required.

  • Develop technical specifications and assist with soliciting, awarding, and administering maintenance and repair service contracts.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government agency requirements, and CBRE directives related to building operations and safety.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.

  • Minimum of seven years of related experience in commercial building or engineering operations and/or equivalent trade school training.

  • Universal EPA/CFC certification is required.

  • Preferred qualifications include a Local Operating Engineer’s License or Trade License, Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA), or Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation.

  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EMS) programming and fire alarm systems.

  • Ability to successfully perform all essential job duties in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

The minimum salary for this position is $110,000.00, and the maximum salary for this position is $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors including the candidate’s experience, education, skills, location, and internal equity. This position is not eligible for a bonus.
