Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
This position ensures that recruitment and collection-related activities are conducted in the safest possible manner and meet or exceed all regulatory standards. The Supervisor performs appropriate budgetary, disciplinary, and HR-related activities and participates in hospital and departmental meetings.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
Required :
5+ in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Donor Center
General knowledge of all areas of the clinical lab including phlebotomy.
Working knowledge of basic office software, LIS and/or HIS computer systems.
Experience in scheduling & training.
Experience initiating and evaluating operational initiatives to improve quality, throughput, and care. Ability to lead others and apply organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully verbally and in writing.
Preferred : Previous supervisory and fiscal management experience. Thorough knowledge of the principles pertaining to the area of responsibility. Familiar with FDA, AABB and CAP Regulations.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Required : Bachelor’s degree in a clinical lab science, medical technology or related science required.

- • Or acceptable Limited California License in Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License.
Preferred :
• ASCP certification preferred
• Professional involvement such as membership on committees, publication of papers and presentation of conferences preferred

Pay Scale Information
$104,395.00-$178,963.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
