Summary:
We are seeking a highly-skilled, technically-fluent Business Development Manager to join our AI Partnerships Team, with a focus on Data acquisition partnerships. You will be responsible for sourcing and securing datasets from around the world to train our next generation of frontier models. You will bridge the gap between technical research needs and external partners and drive data acquisition partnerships from term sheet negotiations through product launches. We are looking for a leader who has an in-depth understanding of AI and data partnerships, enjoys working with product & research teams and has experience navigating complex cross-functional teams to achieve your goals.
Required Skills:
Business Development Manager - AI Partnerships Responsibilities:
Proactively identify data partners for frontier model training
Work closely with product, research, and engineering teams to understand technical data requirements and identify key opportunities
Leverage and expand a broad network of contacts in the global data space to unlock partnerships opportunities
Conduct market research and analysis to understand the data landscape, identifying emerging trends and partnerships opportunities in the AI ecosystem
Working cross-functionally with legal, marketing, finance, product, and engineering teams to negotiate agreements, drive special projects, advocate internally for partners, and educate on industry trends
Providing regular reports and updates on partnership activity and performance

Relevant experience in business development, strategy or related fields
Experience leading cross-functional teams to orchestrate and complete deals, including experience interpreting legal documents and working with attorneys to complete agreements
Experience working closely with product and engineering teams
Experience developing working relationships inside and outside an immediate team or partner organization

MBA or advanced technical degree such as MSCS and MSEE
Experience with AI products and technologies such as AI models, use-cases, and systems
Experience in content and data acquisition deals
Experience analyzing data and deriving actionable business insights
Experience presenting to, communicating, and influencing at all levels of an organization
Experience developing and driving business strategies and initiatives with executive stakeholders
Bachelors Degree in Business, Technology or related field
Knowledge of the AI ecosystem and competitive landscape including the technology, what large and small companies are doing, industry alliances, and broader government and regulatory positions
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience leading cross-functional teams to orchestrate and complete deals, including experience interpreting legal documents and working with attorneys to complete agreements
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Public Compensation:
$162,000/year to $227,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
