UCLA Health Administrative Operations Manager, Olympic Analytical Laboratory in Los Angeles, California
Description
The UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory (OAL), part of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, is one of the world's largest World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-accredited sports drug-testing facility and one of the leading research institutions in the field of athletic doping. Founded in 1982 by a grant from the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, the UCLA facility was the first U.S. laboratory accredited by the International Olympic Committee.
As an Administrative Operations Manager, you will lead and oversee the laboratory's administrative operations, serve as a key advisor to the Laboratory Director, faculty, and departmental leadership, and ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of departmental resources. Duties include:
Provide direct supervision and leadership to administrative staff within the laboratory.
Manage and direct administrative operations to ensure accountability and effective stewardship of operational, financial, and human resources.
Ensure compliance with university policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
Analyze and resolve complex administrative and client service issues.
Interpret and implement fiscal and human resources policies.
Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and budgetary reconciliation.
Lead and support quality and accreditation administrative activities (WADA, ISO, A2LA, DEA).
Provide consultative services to internal and external stakeholders
Salary Range: $86,400.00/year - $184,800.00/year
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in an administrative setting, including responsibility for performance management.
Proven skill in navigating and collaborating within a unionized workplace.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
Experience working in a regulated laboratory, accreditation environment (WADA/ISO/A2LA), or comparable compliance setting - preferred
