Los Alamos National Laboratory Laundry Warehouse (Production Control Specialist 1) (Night Shift/Weekends) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The Operational Readiness organization within the Weapons Production Directorate at Los Alamos National Laboratory (TRIAD) is looking for an exceptional Part-Time Production Control Specialist to join the Supply Chain Management Group (SCL-2). In this role, one will effectively and compliantly manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Laundry at TA-55, RLUOB, RLW, TWF, RANT/WCRRF and CMR for the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP). They will utilize multiple inventory management systems to maintain and verify inventory levels as well as manage centralized distribution and assignment of PPE lockers.
Successful candidates will ensure change rooms are decluttered, organized, and stocked daily, and comply with institution-controlled storage procedures, P330-11, 12 and 13. They will be responsible for locating, pulling, and staging material for programmatic related activities. One will maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, maintaining a clean receiving area, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, working cohesively in a team environment, providing a high level of attention to detail, and exhibit strong organizational skills.
Due to staffing needs, this part-time position will support weekend hours (Friday through Sunday) ranging from 3:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Typically, 2 shifts of 10 hours per day.

Education/Experience: Position requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Material Management:
Ability to manage material in accordance with applicable quality assurance and industry standards.
Customer Service:
Demonstrated Experience and excellence in interacting with customers in a customer service-related setting.
Strong background in customer service who can communicate effectively, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor when working with our customer base and team members.
Proven customer service experience, demonstrating the ability to manage inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and deliver consistent high-quality service.
Business Systems:
Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems, and proficient in various software suites, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access.
Communication:
Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating both written and orally with customers in a customer service-related setting.
Ability to proactively work to assist others in achieving the organizations objectives.
Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations.
Ability to work cohesively in a team environment that encourages collaboration with fellow team members to contribute to the efficiency of the facility.
Organizational Skills :
Possess high attention to detail including strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, observation skills, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic environment.
Other Qualifications:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Familiar with logistics and production planning concepts.
Experience managing material in a nuclear environment with the ability to learn basic safety requirements needed to work within a Radiological Facility.
Awareness and willingness to learn supply chain management practices.
Proven ability to be organized, focused, motivated, and reliable.
Desired Qualifications:
A forklift license or ability to obtain a forklift license.
An active DOE Q-level clearance.
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.
- There is potential for evening and weekend work with the intention of working towards a future 24 hour, 7 days operation.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Directive 206.2: Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (https://directives.nnsa.doe.gov/supplemental-directive/sd-0206-0002) . Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. Term Position: Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principle Associate Director.
