Los Alamos National Laboratory Integrated Support Services Team Leader (Manufacturing Support Manager 1) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

Sigma-Ops is comprised of five integrated teams - Programmatic Project Management, Cyber and Physical Security, Nuclear Materials Management, Integrated Support Services, and Programmatic Maintenance Support - and is charged with ensuring that the mission-critical capabilities of Sigma Division operate seamlessly in support of the nation's nuclear deterrent mission.

The team leader for Integrated Support Services (ISS) provides day-to-day leadership and coordination of key support functions that enable safe, secure, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role oversees activities such as quality assurance, housekeeping, training and qualification programs, procurement, and records management, ensuring disciplined operations and compliance with facility and regulatory requirements. The team leader works closely with group management to support ISS activities aligned with mission priorities and deliverables while reinforcing Integrated Safety Management and a strong safety and quality culture. They support workforce development, performance management, and continuous improvement to strengthen compliance and operations. This role helps ensure mission success in a complex, high-consequence environment.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Integrated Support Services functions within a manufacturing or production environment, including quality assurance, housekeeping/5S, training and qualification programs, procurement, and/or supply chain support

  • Working knowledge of disciplined operations, including standards for work control, procedure compliance, records management, housekeeping excellence, and configuration/use control in operational environments.

  • Experience working within regulated or high-consequence environments, with adherence to facility requirements and quality standards.

  • Experience leading or supervising multidisciplinary teams responsible for ISS functions (e.g., quality, housekeeping, procurement, records management, training), including both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Ability to integrate multiple support functions into cohesive operations, ensuring alignment with mission deliverables and production schedules.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute ISS activities, including training compliance, procurement execution, housekeeping standards, record management, and quality performance.

  • Experience fostering a culture of continuous improvement, including identifying gaps, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence of issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with LANL-specific policies and procedures

  • Experience supporting workforce development initiatives, including training and qualification programs, records management and housekeeping initiatives, with a focus on improving compliance, effectiveness, and workforce performance

  • Active Q clearance

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
