Pay Rate: $18/hour
Shift: Morning (8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
Schedule: 5–6 days per week; weekends required
Position Overview
The Chocker plays an essential role in the safe and secure transport of automobiles. This position is responsible for properly positioning vehicles inside transport carriers and securing them using chocks and straps to ensure stability throughout transit and safe release upon arrival. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and comfort working in an active, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
Secure vehicles inside transport carriers by properly installing and removing wheel chocks.
Accurately position automobiles within carriers to maintain balance and transport safety.
Apply and remove vehicle straps in accordance with established procedures.
Remove all chocks and straps once vehicles arrive at the terminal.
Consistently wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow all safety procedures and take responsibility for personal and team safety.
Work from written assignment sheets and accurately complete and sign off on required documentation.
Read, interpret, and follow operational manuals and written instructions.
Respond promptly and professionally to service requests and assistance needs.
Demonstrate cost-conscious behavior while working within approved budgets.
Maintain confidentiality and handle company information responsibly.
Conduct all work with professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
Remain open to feedback, new ideas, and improved work methods.
Show initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
Perform effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and assist with conflict resolution as needed.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Regular lifting and moving of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds.
Ability to handle equipment using hands and arms and communicate clearly by talking and hearing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience in general labor, production, or securing/strapping tasks is a plus.
Willingness to comply with company policies and handbook guidelines.
Ability to work in varying conditions, including exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, and moderate noise.
Professional demeanor in challenging situations.
Work Environment & Schedule
This role operates in an active transportation and production environment involving moving vehicles and mechanical equipment. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Noise levels are generally moderate but may vary.
Schedule Details:
Shift: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
5–6 days per week
Weekends required
1–2 days off during the week
Flexibility required to work odd hours, split shifts, or nights based on train arrival and departure schedules

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
