The Opportunity

Director Human Resources

Longs Peak and Broomfield Hospitals

The Director of Human Resources is an integral member of the hospital leadership team, providing daily on-campus presence and working in collaboration with senior leaders and front line leaders on both immediate decisions and long-term strategic planning. This leader physically builds in-person relationships with front line leaders and staff through regular face-to-face interactions. Serving as an on-site liaison to the system HR team, the Director advocates for and supports the needs of the hospitals. The Director is vital in strategic talent and workforce planning, ensuring sustainable growth for the hospitals through direct, in-person engagement. Additionally, the Director of Human Resources identifies opportunities for leadership and staff development through daily observations and interactions, linking them with Organizational Development resources to facilitate growth. Recognizing and acting upon opportunities to enhance and improve the hospital culture through consistent physical presence is also a key responsibility, making the Director of HR crucial to the overall success and advancement of the organization. This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote work option.

Key Responsibilities

  • The HR Director plays a key role in the hospital's strategic and operational efforts by:

  • Collaborating with senior management to align HR strategies with the hospital's overall goals.

  • Analyzing workforce data to inform decision-making and optimize staffing levels. Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve employee engagement and morale through daily on-site observations and interactions.

  • Maintaining daily physical presence to engage directly with staff, gathering feedback and insights, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Supporting leaders to providing feedback and coaching to employees to support their professional growth.

  • Ensuring the hospital complies with federal, state, and local labor laws and healthcare regulations.

  • Enforcing and implementing policies related to workplace safety, harassment, and discrimination.

  • Working with HR compliance in addressing employee grievances and resolving conflicts in a fair and timely manner.

  • Facilitating in-person communication between staff and management to ensure transparency and trust through consistent on-site availability.

Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is strongly preferred

  • 5 years of Human Resources leadership experience in a healthcare environment

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and/or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification preferred

Skills and Traits

  • Experienced on-site leader, collaborator and facilitator with demonstrated success working seamlessly across multiple stakeholders and business units in a highly complex, matrixed environment

  • Ability to provide immediate, in-person coaching and advice to senior leaders through complex issues and problems

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously through a systematic approach while maintaining a consistent on-site presence

  • Asks challenging questions and helps leaders find the appropriate solutions.

  • Strong ability to balance the needs of the business with HR priorities through direct, in-person connections between business and HR leaders

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well under pressure, maintaining composure and delivering quality results amidst tight deadlines and competing priorities.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, ensuring precision in documentation and execution of HR processes.

  • Ability to manage a wide range of confidential information with discretion and integrity, ensuring the highest standards of privacy and security.

  • Represents the organization with a high level of professionalism, maintaining a positive image and ensuring respectful interactions at all times.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Dedicated to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive workplace environment, through visible leadership and personal engagement ensuring all employees feel valued and empowered.

  • Ability to balance day-to-day operational duties with long-term strategic initiatives, ensuring both immediate needs and future goals are met effectively.

Pay: $131,705 - $210,724 annually. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
