Andromeda Advantage Inc Facilities Technician in Long Island City, New York
49-27 Property Ops, is looking for a reliable Facilities Technician. The facilities employee is responsible for maintaining the campus premises and the HVAC/R in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition, under the supervision of the Facilities Manager.
Essential Functions
Performs daily maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
Installs new units or replacement parts for existing HVAC/R units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory including basic maintenance hand and power tools
Care for cleaning equipment used
Records, Supplies, and Equipment
Repair and paint equipment and furniture as needed. Make other repairs on campus
Other related duties as assigned
Critical Skills:
Previous related experience in general custodial duties, such as cleaning, repairing, and painting.
Ability to read and write in order to follow written work schedules. Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand as needed
Friendly, cheerful personality and ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other staff, and visitors.
Ability to maintain work and personal habits
Able to identify and read drawings as required
Competencies and Requirements:
EPA refrigerant use required (universal)
OSHA-30
Certificate of Fitness/Fireguard G-60/F-60
Knowledge of brazing
Willing to work overtime hours during the week or weekend, stay late occasionally for school events as needed
Able to work outdoors during inclement weather.
Able to work at high altitudes
Being punctual, keep required work schedules, and follow work rules.
