Job Information
Insight Global Senior Electrical Integration Engineer (High-Performance Compute) in Long Beach, California
Job Description
The Senior Electrical Integration Engineer for the High-Performance Compute Cluster (Compute) will be responsible for the vehicle integration and industrialization of the Compute module and will participate in system-level design activities for related subsystems. This role is critical in transitioning the Compute module from the design phase into high-volume manufacturing, ensuring that suppliers’ production processes are capable, scalable, and meet Ford's stringent quality standards.
You will act as the technical link between Product Development (PD), Quality, and Purchasing to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles are applied and launch timelines are met without compromise. You will conceptualize, design, engineer, develop, and support the launch of next-generation platforms for electric vehicles.
What you’ll be able to do:
• Lead Integration: Drive the design, integration, and functional testing of the Compute system.
• Cross-Functional Development: Develop the Compute system in collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Controls, Security, Hardware, and UX—to achieve objectives within budget and program timelines.
• Industrialization: Lead the industrialization of Compute modules from design to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring robust and scalable production processes.
• Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical liaison between Product Development (PD), Quality, and Purchasing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the single point of contact for electrical issues within the Compute cluster, providing rapid response and expertise to resolve critical concerns impacting vehicle development.
• DFM Strategy: Drive the implementation of DFM strategies to optimize manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance product quality for high-volume production.
• Software Collaboration: Partner with the software team to develop and tune the performance of various components within the Compute system.
• Launch Support: Support vehicle assembly lines during development phases, validate system-level changes, and drive issue resolution to ensure on-time delivery and smooth production ramp-up.
• Quality Control: Develop and implement quality control measures and testing protocols for Compute modules.
• Testing & Debugging: Coordinate with systems test teams to perform vehicle-level testing and debugging, including data analysis and organizing cross-functional reviews.
• Requirements Allocation: Perform detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications with a focus on manufacturability.
• Reporting: Report feature development progress and maturity at key program milestones.
• Documentation: Create comprehensive release artifacts, diagrams, and documentation for use by all cross-functional teams.
