Insight Global Maintenance Manager in Long Beach, California

Job Description

A client of Insight Global in the maritime transportation industry is looking to hire a Maintenance Manager for their team. The Maintenance Manager supports the Terminal Manager in delivering safe, reliable, and cost‑effective terminal operations by leading all preventive, corrective, and capital maintenance activities. This role executes asset management strategies defined by the Asset Director and translates them into actionable site‑level maintenance plans, KPIs, and schedules.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Workforce Management

-Lead all union, company, and subcontracted maintenance personnel at assigned terminals

-Enforce performance expectations related to safety, attendance, productivity, and policy compliance

-Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and schedules across shifting operational priorities

-Partner with HR on hiring, training, performance management, and CBA compliance

-Serve as technical authority on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and industrial facility systems

Asset Management & Reliability

-Execute asset management strategies aligned with ISO 55000 principles

-Convert enterprise asset strategies into site‑level SOPs, KPIs, and maintenance plans

-Partner on capital planning, lifecycle assessments, and reliability initiatives

-Escalate asset risks, failures, and performance issues with supporting data

CMMS (Maximo) Ownership

-Act as site SME for Maximo CMMS adoption and usage

-Manage full work order lifecycle: planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout

-Build and maintain preventive maintenance programs, asset hierarchies, and job plans

-Analyze KPIs including PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, backlog, and wrench time

-Drive RCA and continuous improvement using CMMS data

Operations, Safety & Compliance

-Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and production impact

-Ensure compliance with OSHA, EH&S, environmental, and regulatory requirements

-Prepare for and support inspections and audits

-Maintain equipment documentation, SOPs, and operational manuals

Financial, Inventory & CAPEX

-Develop and manage maintenance OPEX and CAPEX budgets

-Control maintenance spend using CMMS cost tracking and reporting

-Manage inventory, critical spares, procurement, and vendor performance

-Lead capital projects including justification, ROI analysis, execution, and closeout

This is a permanent direct hire, and candidates will be required to work on-site 5 days/week. We are looking to pay anywhere between $120,000-$150,000 base salary for this role. Apply today!

Skills and Requirements

5-7 years of leadership experience in industrial maintenance/operations

Hands-on experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) platforms

Strong working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, specifically conveyors

Experience managing union labor

Possess or able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

Proficient with Microsoft Office
