Robert Half Legal Assistant in Long Beach, California
Description We are looking for a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team in Long Beach, California. This contract position requires an individual with strong attention to detail to support one of our partners with both pre-litigation and trial-related tasks. The role offers a hybrid schedule, blending onsite and remote work, and requires a solid background in civil litigation and insurance defense.
Responsibilities:
• Manage case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized and accessible.
• Handle e-filing and court submissions with precision and adherence to deadlines.
• Schedule and maintain calendars, including appointments, deadlines, and court dates.
• Prepare legal documents and correspondence to support litigation and pre-trial activities.
• Oversee pre-litigation workflows and assist in trial preparation.
• Utilize Merus and Clio software effectively for case management and documentation.
• Provide support primarily for general liability cases, with occasional involvement in personal injury matters.
• Coordinate with attorneys and other team members to ensure smooth case progression.
• Maintain clear and thorough communication with clients and external parties.
• Monitor and follow up on deadlines to ensure compliance with all court requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense and civil litigation.
• Proficiency in using Merus and Clio software for legal case management.
• Demonstrated expertise in e-filing and handling court submissions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Familiarity with general liability cases; experience in personal injury is a plus.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of legal work.
