Job Title: Mechanical Installation Technician Job Description
We are seeking skilled Mechanical Installation Technicians to assemble and install multiple conveyors and a grid system at a distribution facility. This role requires teamwork, precision, and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively. The position involves working in small teams to ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks.
Responsibilities
Assemble and install the Ocado grid automation structure and associated peripheral systems.
Perform tasks including grid installation, cladding, false bottom totes, grid finishing, peripheral stations, maintenance area setup, and charging stations.
Provide commissioning and go-live support.
Work safely as part of a team using hand and power tools.
Operate lifts and work at heights as necessary.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in conveyor installation, construction labor, millwright, welding, or similar mechanical fields.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Experience in heavy-duty or industrial construction environments.
Comfortable working at heights.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical inclination and assembly experience.
Comfortable working on a construction site.
Forklift and aerial work platform experience (boom or scissor) is an asset.
Certified in scissor lift operation.
1 in every 3 workers needs a forklift license.

This is a great long-term project offering lots of overtime opportunities, with the potential to work up to 60 hours during peak times. Successful candidates may have the opportunity for permanent positions or transition to new projects.
Work Environment
The work is based at a distribution facility with a schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Additional hours or schedule changes may be required, with possible shifts of 12 hours or 10 hours across six days. Work may be conducted on platforms, scissor lifts, or forklifts. Workers must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols. Workers are expected to bring their own tools, including socket and wrench sets, screwdrivers, hammer, level, square, pry bar, adjustable wrenches, measuring tape, Allen key set, and drift.
