Role Summary:
As a part of our Maintenance Department, the Experienced Apprentice Mechanic or Licensed Truck Mechanic (310T) is responsible for daily and preventative maintenance and completes the required repairs on our company-owned trucks and trailers.
The chosen candidate will provide quality customer service to our drivers, is safety focused and is a Licensed Truck Mechanic (310T) or Experienced Apprentice Mechanic looking to work in a fleet maintenance environment.
Hours of Work:
Consistent Schedule, Friday- Sunday from 6:00am-6:00pm (1 hour lunch - paid)

Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $22.60- $37.98, depending on license and experience
Shift Premium: $2.00/ hour for working weekend shift, Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (after 1 year of service)
Work Location & Environment:
1497 Wilton Grove Rd, London, ON N6N 1M3, Work Environment – Maintenance Shop
Key Accountabilities:
Preventative and scheduled repairs:
Review and follow work order instructions from start to finish
Outline all parts used and input comments into the work order (complaint, cause and correction) regarding the repair
Inspect entire vehicle and road test to ensure repairs are complete
Test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to isolate faults
Notify shift Team Leader of any other needed repairs
Identify any warranty repairs and complete necessary paperwork
Perform Ministry of Transportation vehicle inspections as per Ministry guidelines
Shunting and moving equipment in and out of maintenance facility and other destinations for repairs
Shop cleanup:
Put away any equipment used, including personal tools
Shop cleanliness, emptying garbage cans at end of shift, washing floors and sweeping
Attend shift meetings as required
Participate in formal and informal training sessions
Perform other maintenance duties as required
Qualifications:
Provincial Ontario 310T Certification of Qualification (Truck), or interprovincial designation from another province
Registered 310T with Ontario College of Trades (OCOT)
2-5 years of prior work experience as a technician an asset
Possess a valid G-class driver’s license is required
Must have suitable tools or willingness to purchase prior to hire
Knowledgeable with air brakes, electrical diagnostics and 5th wheel rebuilding
Understand emission controls, including DPFs, DEF, EGR systems and Detroit one-box systems
Experience with Bendix and Meritor systems; OEM Freightliner, Volvo and/or Paccar experience is an asset
Experience replacing clutches and engine diagnostics with integrated powertrain experience is an asset
Skills and Attributes:
