Job Purpose
ICE is seeking a Junior HR Business Partner to play a vital role in delivering high‑quality HR advisory and generalist support across the UK and wider EMEA region. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to further develop and strengthen their HR business partnering capability within a dynamic, international environment.
Working closely with Manager’s employees, and HRBP’s the Junior HRBP will provide pragmatic, employee‑centric advice to support a positive and productive workplace, ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, and contribute to the delivery of strategic business objectives. The role will include supporting employee inductions, manage flexible working requests, and facilitate wellbeing and employee support meetings.
The successful candidate will bring a strong generalist HR background, be confident in the application of UK employment legislation, and be comfortable preparing, interpreting and using people data and analytics to inform insight‑led decision making. Excellent communication and influencing skills, alongside the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary, fast‑paced environment, are essential.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality generalist HR advice and support, with a focus on first‑line employee relations, ensuring accurate and timely guidance aligned with employment legislation and company policies.
Advise managers and employees on performance and probation, absence and wellbeing, supporting a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Support the end‑to‑end employee lifecycle, including new joiner on-boarding, employee inductions, probation management, contractual changes and off‑boarding activities.
Maintain accurate HR trackers and records, ensuring effective follow‑through, data integrity and prompt execution of all HR activities.
Operate with precision, curiosity and accountability, ensuring tasks are delivered promptly and followed through to completion.
Support UK immigration processes, including coordination of visa‑related documentation and ongoing compliance requirements.
Experience and competence in preparing and analysing (people) data and interpret outcomes for clear, actionable insights that support informed decision‑making.
Support performance management processes and employee development activities, including the year‑end review cycle.
Contribute to business‑led change initiatives, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
Build effective relationships with stakeholders and HR centres of excellence to establish credibility as a trusted HR advisor.
Participate in and potentially lead HR projects to support business priorities and operational efficiencies
Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures and staying updated on employment laws and regulations
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Build strong and sustainable relationships with your business partners/centers of excellence, e.g., HR shared services, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Talent & Learning, Compensation & Benefits to gain credibility as a trusted advisor regarding people topics.
Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
Knowledge and Experience
Must have studied HR related discipline and/or studying towards or fully CIPD qualified or have demonstrable experience.
Experience working within a global, matrixed organisation.
Highly organised and detail‑oriented, with strong planning skills and the ability to manage both routine tasks and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience supporting or leading HR project work, including employee engagement initiatives, intranet and policy updates, digital communications and process mapping.
A strong understanding of HR principles, policies and best practices, with the confidence to apply these in practice.
Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity and change.
Demonstrates discretion and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across teams and stakeholders.
Confidence to apply common sense and judgement in situations of uncertainty.
Effectively priorities to ensure deadlines are met and adapt accordingly to meet changing timescales and priorities.
