Job Description:
Mars Pet Nutrition (MPN) is engaging in a Customer Excellence transformation. This transformation will focus on elevating the capabilities required to win with winning customers, to enable operating entities. Five priority capabilities have been identified, one of which being 'Perfect Store, Shopper Experience & Execution excellence'.
The Global Director Perfect Store, Shopper Experience & Execution reports to the VP Customer Excellence and plays a critical role to drive and embed Execution Excellence across geographies with the objective to win at the point of purchase through flawless activation and execution.
The mandate Is to own and define global frameworks / methodologies for Perfect Store, Shopper experience & Execution, and actively challenge GMs, Sales Director, Category / Shopper activation leads on execution discipline and Perfect Store delivery. The Director will drive change management towards Execution Excellence at a global scale.
What are we looking for?
12–15+ years of experience in Category Management, Business development or Trade Marketing for a CPG company
Experience defining enterprise-level Shopper activation & execution excellence strategies
Strong leadership skills, able to partner and influence other stakeholders to actively drive excellence in activation and execution for Mars Pet Nutrition
Pragmatic change agent, able to orchestrate cross-functional partnership and navigate complex multi-market environments to build the right capabilities and mindset
Proven functional/technical understanding and know-how of Perfect store, shopper activation and execution excellence concepts
Strong understanding of channel / customer dynamics, shopper behaviour, and in-store / digital execution levers
Strong analytical mind with proven commercial and financial skills with excellent organization agility, understanding the impacts of decisions on the P&L, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Skilled in challenging and influencing organizational practices, with the ability to advocate for necessary changes to optimize business processes
Experience designing or deploying AI-powered execution tools / analytics in collaboration with digital teams preferred.
What will be your key responsibilities?
As part of the Global Customer Excellence CoE, the Global Director Perfect Store, Shopper Experience & Execution defines and institutionalizes best-in-class Perfect Store, Shopper Experience, and Execution Excellence standards across the enterprise to elevate in-store impact, ensuring disciplined adoption across markets.
Design and own best-in-class Activation & Execution standards, methodology and assets
Build and develop Perfect Store methodology and standards to drive activation & execution excellence across Operating Entities, grounded in category, shopper and customer Insights
Especially, designs key standards across channels / customer types (incl. non-negotiable vs. configurable), also ensuring sync with global strategic customer & channel management and global category vision
Identify and institutionalise best practices across markets to continuously elevate Execution Excellence
Leverage category / shopper / customer insights to regularly challenge and update methodology / frameworks and standards, ensuring relevance with evolving retail and digital environments
Partner with Digital teams to select, design, and deploy relevant tools and data standards
Embed best-in-class methodology & guardrails in local operating entities
Drive change management and ensure methodology and standards are embedded into local routines
Foster a culture of execution excellence and execution discipline across markets
Challenge local operating entities on Perfect Store / Shopper Experience / Execution Excellence processes (incl. vision, ways of working…), working with market GMs / Sales Directors
Partner with Market GMs, Sales Directors and Category / Trade marketing leads to challenge and elevate local activation and execution models
Steer Perfect Store / Shopper Experience / Execution Excellence performance across the enterprise
Establish a robust governance model to ensure adoption of global Perfect store, shopper activation & execution standards and steer Activation & Execution performance
Define associated performance framework, with clear standardized KPIs to measure impact and discipline, cascaded from Global to Markets
Drive governance to track (i) adoption of best-In-class methodologies & standards, and (ii) Activation & Execution Excellence performance
Consolidate global activation & execution performance insights, identify structural growth gaps and trigger interventions; challenge markets on their performance and understand root causes
Drive a structured global and regional review cadence, providing leadership with clear visibility on progress, commercial impact, key risks, and escalation topics
