An exciting and senior opportunity has arisen for a Director-level Exotics Index Trader within our London-based Equities team. This role is integral to our trading operations, focusing on the complex and dynamic world of exotic derivatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a significant trading book, deploying sophisticated strategies to manage risk, and driving revenue growth. This position offers the chance to operate at a high level within a leading global franchise, interact with key clients, and make a substantial impact on the success of the business.
Primary Responsibilities of the role
Oversee a complex trading book of equity-based exotic and index derivative products, with a primary focus on revenue generation and risk management.
Develop and execute sophisticated trading strategies to manage the book's risk profile, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall risk appetite.
Actively trade the portfolio to meet and exceed budgeted revenue targets while navigating dynamic market conditions.
Anticipate and respond to client demand for exotic products, structuring and facilitating large-scale trades to serve key institutional clients.
Build and cultivate a strong client franchise, establishing and maintaining key relationships to drive business growth.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Research, and other internal partners to develop innovative client solutions and enhance the overall Equities franchise.
What we need from you
Significant experience in a senior Equities trading role, with a proven track record of successfully managing a trading book.
Deep, specialized knowledge of exotic and index derivative products, including their pricing, risk characteristics, and market dynamics.
Demonstrable history of strong performance in revenue generation and sophisticated risk management.
Advanced analytical, quantitative, and numerical competency, with the ability to model and analyze complex financial instruments.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building and maintaining relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency with industry-standard trading platforms and systems, such as Bloomberg, and familiarity with relevant booking and risk management tools.
