We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Collateral and Risk Senior Project Manager

This role sits within our Market Securities Services Operations (MSS), Strategy and Change Team, and is responsible for managing several small to medium-sized projects with global coverage. You will sit within a global programme working closely with Front Office, Technology, Operations, Non-Financial Risk and other stakeholders in multiple locations to ensure successful delivery of the in-scope projects.

You will manage projects within the overall Collateral, Risk and Billing programme which addresses the business, operational and regulatory needs of MSS.

In this role you will:

  • Work within an annual funding cycle being responsible for scoping and forecasting for the year-ahead and subsequently managing the execution of that book of work within agreed parameters

  • Work with the MSS Business, Regulatory Oversight, IT, Operations, Change and Compliance to assess the impact of new business & operational requests and new / changed uncleared margin regulations on the MSS business

  • Manage projects within the collateral and risk programme to scope, quality and schedule parameters agreed with stakeholders and the programme manager

  • Secure commitment from teams and workstreams contributing to the project outputs and overseeing their delivery

  • Produce and maintain project plans, RAID, cost control, resource forecasts, status reporting, governance materials, specifications, and other project artefacts in-line with the HSBC change framework.

  • Orchestrate and run project governance forums in order to brief senior stakeholders and secure project decisions where required.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong background and solid working knowledge of the initial margin calculation, collateral management, counterparty credit risk and risk weighted asset processes, including the global prevailing regulatory environment for uncleared margin regulations

  • Possess comprehensive and proven project management skills and abilities

  • Capability to effectively manage regulatory projects from inception through to implementation within fixed timescales

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work confidently and effectively with senior executives

  • A self-starter who can work in a multi-tasking environment and manage priorities effectively
