Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing manufacturing processes that include production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. Your role will involve approving and creating new Work Instructions, modifying routings and BOMs in the ERP system, and maintaining CAD floor layouts of buildings and equipment. You will coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and revised products, focusing on established goals, team training, and result evaluation. Additionally, you will design, develop, test, and source various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Your expertise will contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement through product and process analysis.
Responsibilities
Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes.
Approve and create new Work Instructions.
Create or modify routings and BOMs in the ERP system.
Update and maintain detailed CAD floor layouts of buildings and equipment.
Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products.
Design, develop, test, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment.
Conduct product/process analysis for cost reduction and quality improvement.
Lead in resolving quality problems in production through the NCR process.
Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in CNC programming and process improvement.
Knowledge of Mastercam, manufacturing engineering, and process engineering.
Experience in continuous improvement, GD&T, CAD, and CAM software.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Capability to create and modify CAD models and CAM files.
Experience in operating basic CNC equipment.
Strategic thinking related to business goals.
Proficiency in presentation skills and running meetings.
Structured problem solving and analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of computers, machining, assembly practices, and tooling.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience in working with vendors, customers, and employees.
Presentation and communication proficiency.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lombard, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
