BEAR RIVER MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, INC. Registered Nurse Supervisor in LOGAN, Utah
BRMH is seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility.
Position Description: Under the direction of the President/CEO, provide supervision to Nurses and Medical Assistants, center wide, and provide oversight and coordination of med management services to individuals with mental health or substance use conditions, as medically necessary, including administering (including injections), monitoring, packaging or reviewing the client's medication(s) and medication regimen, and providing information and education, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote recovery and well-being. Provide client check-in and medical information gathering prior to client psychiatric appointments, including blood pressure, weight, height, medication concerns, medication history, etc. Duties may be provided one-on-one or in a group/clinic setting in outpatient clinics, receiving center, residential facilities, day programs, or other outreach locations.
Responsible for supervising direct care staff utilizing regular formal and informal supervision around essential job functions, service delivery at expected levels, service documentation, scheduling, training and development, etc. Conduct documented performance and ongoing coaching/feedback relative to essential job functions of each supervisee. Supervision may include group or individual sessions. Document all supervision interactions in the EHR system. Daily program management and operation, including policy and procedure compliance. Attend administrative meetings and facilitate communication of center policies, decisions, and other information between supervisees/other program staff, and BRMH management. Participate as a member of the center wide supervisor team and provide support through coordination with them. Conduct weekly staff meetings on a rotating schedule with other supervisors. Other duties as assigned by the CEO.
May provide prescribed case management services by Coordinating, Assessing, Linking, & Monitoring through various modes of communication with the client, family members, or service agencies to ensure access to medical services. Monitoring the prescribed medication regimen with the client or other applicable individual or agency staff, on behalf of the client.
*Secondary Activities: * Maintain up-to-date accurate and quality medication service and time sheet documentation by 30 minutes past closing of the day following the date of service delivery in the Center's automated clinical records system including all time actually worked with the appropriate activity code and time duration. Obtain approval from immediate supervisor on any and all leave taken. Attend monthly supervision, and attend team and organization meetings as scheduled. Assist in the organization and maintenance of medication samples. Perform non-billable activities related to the Medical In Box. Maintain an automated schedule, reflecting the FTE availability within Center hours, in order to be consistently available and visible to Center staff and clients.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Knowledge of the practice of the clinical nursing specialty information.
- Ability to lead and supervise nursing team and manage complex cases involving mental health and substance use issues.
- Knowledge of confidentiality and ability to maintain compliance with confidentiality of all client and Center sensitive information.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of community resources available to those with mental health or substance use disorders.
- Teaming skills for effective interoffice relations and for working with others in client treatment.
- Computer literacy and skills for operation of automated medical records, email, scheduling, etc .
- Timeliness with schedule including whereabouts, arrival to work, attendance at meetings, and client appointments.
- Document exact and "to the minute" for billings and time sheet entries.
- Positive attitude related to job expectations, supervision, Center policies and procedures, etc.
- Ability to behave ethically and to understand and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
- Flexible hours to meet client and/or Center needs.
- Conduct expected tasks in a safe manner, uphold Center safety policies, and report perceived safety issues to appropriate sources.
*EDUCATIONAL AND/OR PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: *Registered Nurse degree from an accredited school of nursing, and current license in nursing. Experience serving individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions preferred.
Position Salary: *$71,210.40/year -- $79,841.10/year. Salary based on education, experience and licensure. *NOTE: additional compensation given for supervisory responsibilities.
Position Hours: 40 hours/week
