BEAR RIVER ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS HEAT Caseworker (Part-Time) in LOGAN, Utah
Part time position unbenefited.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Interview incoming HEAT applicants, gather required documents, enter case details into software to determine eligibility, and follow up with clients as needed. Spanish speaking is preferred.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works Under General Supervision of the HEAT Program Supervisor and the Director of Human Services.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Complete HEAT program client applications
- Interview HEAT program applicants.
- Determine program eligibility and gather required documents.
- Make appropriate client referrals.
- Complete application process in an accurate and timely manner.
- Obtain and maintain a strong knowledge of HEAT program guidelines.
- Attend and participate in weekly HEAT staff meetings.
- Assist in orienting new employees under the direction of a supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma (Or GED)
AND
Two years general business, accounting, payroll or similar training working experience in a position requiring attention to detail, and organizational skills.
OR
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Spanish speaking is preferred.
- Attention to detail a must.
- Knowledge of HEAT program guidelines and operations (training available).
- Knowledge of other community programs and resources.
- The ability to quickly learn new software applications.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must be confident, self-motivated, and professional team player.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
