Job Summary

The Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for leading and managing environmental compliance programs with a strong focus on battery management, stormwater compliance, hazardous waste and materials handling, and regulatory adherence. This role ensures the organization maintains full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while promoting sustainable and safe operational practices. The position requires advanced technical knowledge, regulatory expertise, and the ability to independently manage complex environmental programs. This position is in Livonia, MI.

As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will:

Ensure all sites are adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations in relation to environmental, health and safety concerns. Coordinate with assigned site management for regular touchpoints regarding safety and environmental concerns (audit results, injuries, incidents/accidents, root cause analysis, etc.)

Manage and maintain environmental permits and certifications for applicable sites.

Routine EHS audits of sites to maintain compliance. Track metrics, recommend process improvements and collaborate with operations to implement changes.

Develop and monitor hazardous materials inventory management and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance.

Ensure assigned sites have up to date training (e.g., PIT, LOTO, Crane etc.)

Coordinate with other EHS peers on enterprise-wide safety and environmental concerns (injury trends, outstanding issues, upcoming regulatory compliance, required training, etc.)
