ROUSH Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Livonia, Michigan

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician ensures production equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. This role is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and related control systems and hardware. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician develops and maintains strong working relationships by working closely with engineers, supervisors and other department staff.
Responsibilities as a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician:
Ensure operation of equipment by completing all preventive maintenance forms
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, including manufacturing equipment and other associated support hardware, using precision test instruments to troubleshoot issues
Maintain manufacturing equipment, Hand Tools, Assembly Tools and Fixtures
Repair defective equipment by dismantling hardware, using hoists, cranes, Forklift, hand and power tools
Fabricate/build production carts using FasTube and other materials
Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions, responding to requests and completing required documentation
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Promote and support continuous improvement processes and projects
Assist with internal projects and provide support as needed
Qualifications for a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing production experience
Minimum of 2 years of industrial or manufacturing production equipment maintenance
Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR
Ability to diagnose and solve equipment issues
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Willing and able to travel between buildings in the Livonia area
Knowledge of applicable safety procedures
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to understand and interpret technical documents including blueprints and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to perform light fabrication and welding
Ability to maintain current preventive maintenance (PM) schedule
Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
Must have own hand tools
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Technical certifications or formal training related to job duties
Automotive production line equipment repair experience
Controls/Programable Logic Controller (PLC) controls experience is a plus
Assembly equipment design and build/repair experience
Advanced fabrication and welding skills are a plus
Experience using a voltmeter for AC and DC applications
