Warehouse/Forklift Operations Associate
We are in search of a team-oriented and flexible individual to join our team in the warehouse/forklift operations area of Mercer Milling. This full-time hourly role is responsible for multiple duties in a fast-paced environment related to the successful warehouse operation of our pre-mix dairy feed products. The role reports to the Plant Manager and receives input from quality, supply chain, nutrition, and overall managerial leadership.
Shift Available: 3rd Shift. $1.00 shift differential. Sunday-Wednesday 9:00pm 7:30am, occasional Thursdays (same hours). This position will train on 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with team members and managers to achieve expectations, goals and problem-solve changes. Perform shipping and receiving duties to ensure customer order specifications are met. o Operate equipment (e.g., forklift) and technology in the warehouse to weigh, palletize, move product. o Follow all company policies and SOPs to ensure timeliness, accuracy, quality of product, and compliance is maintained in all warehouse operations (e.g., picking, staging and loading). o Document activities as required. Maintain strict adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures (e.g., monitor and report equipment condition and performance, proper housekeeping). Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/ Abilities: Excellent attention to detail and proactive/results orientation; demonstrate good attendance, accuracy and responsibility. Good communication skills; accept and follow policy and job expectations. Utilize a growth mindset to meet job expectations, such as learning standard operating procedures and inventory, fulfillment, and shipping/receiving principles. Experience using math skills required; Microsoft Office and ERP software experience in a warehouse or production environment a plus. At least one year warehouse and forklift experience desired; must pass forklift requirements for State of New York. Valid NY state motor vehicle operators license.
Physical Requirements: Periods working on feet, walking, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing, and performing repetitive actions. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds on occasion. Manual dexterity needed to operate machinery and equipment. Visual acuity needed to inspect machinery. Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, height, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
High school diploma or GED required. Warehouse/ Forklift operation and experience with OSHA safety compliance preferred.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K), and other programs. Eligible for a pay increase after 90-day probationary period.
