Mercer Milling Co Inc Logistics and Transportation Coordinator in Liverpool, New York
The Mercer Logistics & Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily logistics operations for the feed mill. This position works closely with the Production Planner and Warehouse Manager to monitor order status, coordinate transportation, and ensure accurate and timely deliveries. The role oversees truck routing, freight scheduling, railcar logistics, DOT compliance, rental fleet management, and shipment verification to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. The Logistics & Transportation Coordinator serves as the primary point of coordination between production, warehouse operations, drivers, freight carriers, and customer service to maintain efficient product movement, and delivery accuracy. This position's schedule would be Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid meal period.

Required Skills/Abilities: Strong organizational and logistics coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules simultaneously. Strong communication skills across operations teams and drivers. Attention to detail when verifying loads, schedules, and documentation. Working knowledge of transportation logistics and freight coordination. Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with transportation routing or logistics software (StreetSync preferred).
Physical Requirements: Periods working on feet, walking, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing, and performing repetitive actions. Must be able to regularly lift up to 55 pounds in a heavy manufacturing environment. Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, heights (regular climbing of ladders and sometimes up to 150 feet), loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in feed mill operations, agriculture, manufacturing, or logistics coordination. Experience working with trucking fleets and freight carriers. Familiarity with bulk feed transportation and railcar logistics. Experience in managing transportation documentation and regulatory compliance requirements is highly preferred.
This is a full-time non-exempt, hourly position with a competitive hourly rate and benefits package, which includes eligibility for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, HSA, FSA, PTO, Sick, and 401(K) programs. The hourly range set for this position is between $26 - $31 per hour.
