Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for ASIC prototyping in support of an R&D program.

Key activities associated with this role include:

• Architecting and implementing ASIC prototyping solutions using industry-standard platforms, including Synopsys HAPS
• Mapping ASIC RTL to emulation and FPGA-based platforms
• Developing and executing validation plans for complex ASIC and FPGA designs
• Validating and qualifying ASIC and FPGA designs through simulation, hardware emulation, and lab bring-up

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 11 years of relevant experience, or
• Master's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
• U.S. citizenship is required for this role due to government security and/or export control requirements (Active Secret Level Clearance is preferred but not required).

This role focuses on developing ASIC prototypes using FPGA-based platforms, such as the Synopsys HAPS system. Successful candidates typically demonstrate many of the following qualifications and capabilities:

• A strong understanding of the FPGA implementation flow
• Experience developing test plans for ASIC prototyping efforts
• Proven hardware debugging and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of data streaming and packet-based protocols, including Ethernet, UCIe, and JESD204
• Experience automating workflows and developing scripts to support implementation and testing activities
• The ability to collaborate effectively with Systems Architects, RTL designers, ASIC verification engineers, and Software developers to build representative ASIC prototyping platforms
• An interest in providing technical guidance and support to less-experienced engineers
• The ability to create clear, thorough documentation for prototyping implementations and test flows
