GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) is an organization with a rich history and a bright future. An Engineering Intern assists in various areas of Power Production and Delivery in AECC’s Engineering department. We’re looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with a variety of projects related to power production, power delivery operations, and/or transmission facilities.
Utilize computer-based systems to analyze, model, and assemble related data to support the needs of our Members.
Review and organize documents to conform to division records management standards.
Assist with procurement and contracting related to purchase of equipment, materials, or construction labor.
Perform field work at various AECC facilities.
Assist with process mapping.
Assist engineering staff in the performance of their duties.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree from an engineering program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. (EAC of ABET)
Valid state driver’s license
Technologically adept and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
Exceptional analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Extremely detailed and accuracy oriented
Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to work well in somewhat challenging weather conditions to support plant testing activities.
