SECHAN ELECTRONICS INC Electrical Engineer II in Lititz, Pennsylvania
Reference #: EE20399 The Electrical Engineer II will serve as primary technical point of contact for a full range of US DoD products, systems, and services. They will work on both design and build-to-print projects, acting as the Project Engineer for a wide range of build-to-print projects. This individual will lead and participate in engineering development, prototyping, design verification, and transition to production on complex analog, digital, and radio frequency (RF) products.
Position Responsibilities: • Work cross-functionally across the organization (program management, procurement, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, test, production, business development, contracts). • Create and assist in implementation of innovative ideas in support of internal research and development. • Generate and implement improvements in product design and test throughput. • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and fixtures for complex Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and electrical systems. • Interface directly with customers and suppliers to support technical issues. • Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to test staff. • Research and apply electrical engineering principles and theories to solve customer problems. • Manage a wide range of build-to-print projects as a project engineer. • Participate in design processes using established design and development process models (CMMI, Six Sigma for Design, or equivalent). • Perform analog and digital circuit design including schematic capture, CCA layout, power analysis, derating analysis, circuit simulation, and requirements verification. • Lead and participate in design reviews, code reviews, and test reviews. • Create, review, and approve Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variances (RFVs). • Support other engineering group members (software, mechanical, systems, quality, manufacturing, etc.) by providing electrical engineering expertise to solve technical and programmatic problems. • Create and update corporate and engineering processes and procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the value of this organization.
Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of and experience with various types of electronic circuits including: microcontroller/ microprocessor/ microcomputer, embedded design, A/D and D/A conversion, analog signal processing, digital circuits, power regulation, AC/DC and DC/AC conversion, radio frequency (RF), etc. • Familiar with EMI/EMC design • Experienced in reviewing physical designs, electronic schematics and PCB layouts of new products, preferably in the military market • Experience with the following: Boundary scan, Xilinx VHDL, SPICE circuit simulation, Microprocessor/Microcontroller programming and testing • Experience in electrical product design. Specific experience in military product design helpful, but not necessary • Test engineering experience including developing and implementing test plans, procedures, software, and fixtures • Experienced in PWB layout and schematic capture. Desired tool is Altium Designer • Experience in developing and reviewing engineering estimates • Familiarity with industry and military specifications • Familiar with AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI • Familiar with configuration Management (MIL-HDBK-61A, EIA-649) • Strong technical writing, verbal communication skills, and self-motivated
Qualifications: • One of the following: o Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience in design and production of electrical products and systems, preferably for high reliability DoD products and systems o Associates degree in Electronic Engineer Technology or related field and 13+ years of experience in design and production of high reliability DoD products and systems • Ability to obtain/maintain a D partment of Defense security clearance
Work Environment: • Office Environment: Requires physical capability to work in an office environment including sit/stand up to 9 hours a day and use basic office tools such as a computer, copier/printer, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions • Hours: 1st Shift; with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations • 9/80 work schedule • Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visits to Lancaster facility.
