Position Purpose

The Associate Project Accountant is responsible for preparing project financial reports, month-end files, and management information reporting. Collaborating across functions, this position ensures project leadership is well-informed about project status, risks, and achievements. The ability to multitask, be hands-on, and work independently is critical, given the daily and monthly projects that arise, often requiring immediate attention.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with the timely and accurate production of monthly accounts, including variance analysis

  • Responsible for period end closing and associated journal entries

  • Enhance financial process improvements, working with Information Systems and SME’s

  • Prepare project financial data and improve visibility on project costs

  • Manage the accounting and costing systems to ensure that all information is accurately recorded and invoiced in the ERP system

  • Support the Project Management team and other departments with setting up project codes, support them with their project budgets and forecasts, invoicing and revenue recognition and cost estimating

  • Ensure contract sales are correctly invoiced in a timely manner, including accuracy of project payment schedules and milestones against contracted value

  • Assist in interim and year-end Audit’s: revenue selections, job cost testing and inventory price testing

  • Enhance audit process improvements, working across departments to ensure accurate controls

  • Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.

  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Accounting, or related field.

• Minimum 1 year accounting experience or relevant internship(s)

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.

• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

• Proven and demonstrated experience in successfully managing deadlines.

While the role does not require regular lifting or physical exertion, there may be occasional onboarding programs or training opportunities that create opportunities for more exposure to physical tasks or new environments (sites, venues, etc.)
