Job Description
Hanson Professional Services Inc. is a dynamic, employee-owned engineering consulting firm of more than 600 employees providing a full range of multi-disciplined engineering, scientific, and allied services throughout the USA.
Hanson is seeking a motivated AI Engineering Aide to help build, test, and deploy practical AI workflows while supporting technical staff in day-to-day adoption. This intern will play a hands-on role in improving efficiency, innovation, documentation quality, and knowledge capture across the company.
This opportunity is ideal for students interested in applied artificial intelligence, engineering technology, or software development, especially someone excited to build practical tools that solve real problems in an engineering environment.
What You’ll Do
Build, test, and refine AI assistants and workflow automations for repeatable internal tasks
Support production staff in using AI tools for engineering workflows, project documentation, quality control, and data processing/organization
Develop lightweight scripts and utilities (Python, JavaScript, Power Automate, or similar) to connect AI outputs with everyday engineering processes
Help maintain GitHub repositories, document changes clearly, and contribute to simple, well-structured internal tooling
Assist in preparing quick-reference guides, demos, and training materials for internal teams
Evaluate emerging AI tools (including ChatGPT, Codex ,and Copilot), run practical pilot tests, and summarize recommendations
We are looking for a college or high school student who is:
Curious and excited about AI and emerging technologies
Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and work independently
Foundational coding ability (Python or JavaScript preferred, but not required), with comfort reading and editing existing scripts
Comfortable experimenting with new tools and troubleshooting
Strong communication skills for explaining technical topics simply
Experience with GitHub, ChatGPT Codex, Copilot, Microsoft Power Platform, cloud tools (Azure/OpenAI), and documentation/process automation tools is desirable

The hourly range for this position is $17
