Deputy General Manager – Digital Marketing
Digital Marketing is a key business area for Cognizant. As a Deputy General Manager , you will lead and grow a digital marketing business by combining strong client engagement, revenue ownership, and operational leadership. You will serve as a strategic partner to clients, translate business needs into executable plans, and ensure successful delivery through cross‑functional collaboration.
This role acts as a key liaison between senior management, clients, and delivery teams, driving strategic alignment, business performance, innovation, and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Business Leadership
Build, manage, and strengthen senior client relationships to drive trust, growth, and long-term partnerships.
Own revenue targets and deliver against business plans, consistently exceeding client and commercial goals.
Act as the primary escalation point and strategic advisor for clients.
Strategy & Execution
Define strategic priorities and success criteria for programs and initiatives, from launch through post‑launch performance.
Identify risks, dependencies, and launch blockers; drive timely resolution across teams.
Develop and implement strategic plans based on data, market trends, and client performance insights.
Delivery & Operational Excellence
Partner with cross‑functional teams to design and deliver innovative digital marketing solutions.
Establish the required infrastructure, systems, tools, and data frameworks to scale and run the business efficiently.
Drive process transformation, automation, performance management, and compliance aligned with Cognizant’s Global Digital Marketing vision.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
Influence decision‑making across internal and external senior stakeholders.
Prepare and present clear, data‑driven updates and recommendations to executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience in digital marketing.
Hands‑on experience with major digital marketing platforms (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Proven experience leading complex projects or programs.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement business strategies and performance improvements.
Experience in process optimization, transformation, or automation initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience in digital media planning and budget management.
In‑depth knowledge of Google Ads, Display & Video 360, and related digital marketing products.
Proven track record of growing revenue and expanding client accounts.
Strong understanding of industry challenges and opportunities, with the ability to define a growth vision.
Data‑driven mindset, comfortable with quantitative analysis and performance metrics.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, particularly with senior and executive stakeholders.
