Our client, a leading organization in network deployment and support services, is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join their team. As a Data Center Engineer, you will be part of the technical operations supporting network deployment and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Data Center Engineer
Location: Northern, VA
Pay Range: $33-37/hr depending on years of experience
What's the Job?
Perform advanced provisioning, troubleshooting, and software upgrades on newly installed equipment.
Run scripts to gather information for system assessment and remote correction.
Collaborate closely with project management teams, providing technical advice as needed.
Resolve complex technical issues and escalate when necessary to ensure system integrity.
Manage deployment project documentation, including status reports and engineering updates.
What's Needed?
Fundamental knowledge of Ciena products, especially Ciena 6500 and RLS product lines.
Strong understanding of troubleshooting photonic layers, including EDFA and Raman amplification.
Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Site Manager, OTDR, and TDS scripts.
Ability to perform advanced provisioning, troubleshooting, and network software upgrades independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
