Job Description
The Controls Engineer designs, develops, and implements control system solutions to support and advance internal testing capabilities across the organization. This role is responsible for delivering robust, scalable hardware and software systems—including LabVIEW applications, NI platforms, and PLC-based solutions—that improve product quality, operational efficiency, and technical capability. The position collaborates cross-functionally and drives continuous improvement in testing methodologies and engineering standards.
Design and develop control systems architecture for internal test equipment, including hardware selection and system integration
Develop, program, and maintain control software (LabVIEW, PLCs, NI platforms) for test systems and automation solutions
Execute system validation, debugging, and performance testing to ensure reliability, accuracy, and repeatability
Lead and coordinate technical aspects of projects, including planning, prioritization, and cross-functional alignment
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product engineering teams to define requirements and implement improvements
Document system designs, test procedures, and results; present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering
Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering preferred
Proficiency in controls programming environments (e.g., LabVIEW, PLCs such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens)
Experience designing and integrating automated test systems or industrial control systems
Strong understanding of data acquisition, instrumentation, and signal processing
Ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems and software interactions
Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical presentations
Exposure to database integration or data analysis tools
Experience with NI hardware platforms (cDAQ, cRIO, PXI)
Familiarity with hydraulic component testing or fluid power systems
