Aerotek Shipping And Receiving Clerk in Lincoln, Nebraska

*Shipping and Receiving Clerk - $18/hr - WEEKLY PAY*

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders by comparing identifying information with bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. This role ensures that materials received are as ordered and may route incoming items within the company as directed. The Clerk may utilize various handling equipment like hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or overhead cranes to move material within the facility. The Clerk maintains related records and may adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet complex requirements. Duties are frequently nonroutine, resolving most questions and problems independently. Minimal supervision is required, and the Clerk may assist in orienting and training lower-level employees.

Responsibilities

  • Receive raw materials or components into the operation and correctly process paperwork.

  • Ensure materials are in the correct warehouse, yard, or operational area location.

  • Report shortages, overages, or damaged items promptly to management.

  • Perform duties such as removing, cleaning, or repackaging products after receipt.

  • Pull products from the warehouse, prepare, pack, and process packing slips.

  • Load trucks or stage products for shipping.

  • Construct shipping containers like crates or boxes, ensuring safe packing.

  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and regular attendance.

  • Collaborate and work cooperatively with co-workers.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read a tape measure down to 32nd.

  • Machine setup and operation skills.

  • Saw operation and blueprint reading.

  • Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.

  • Experience in machine shop and inspection.

  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day.

  • 6+ months of forklift experience.

  • 6+ months of shipping/receiving experience.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals or willingness to learn.

  • 6+ months experience with calipers, micrometers, or other measurement tools.

  • 6+ months experience working with composites.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
