We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform sample and reagent preparation, DNA extraction, and isolation. The role includes quality analysis prior to genotyping and various molecular biology tasks. The technician will be responsible for data generation using platform-specific technologies and operate liquid handling automation machines, multichannel pipettes, and electronic repeaters. Accurate record-keeping in laboratory notebooks, sample archives, and LIMS entries is essential. The technician will also contribute to process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency. Instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and adherence to SOPs and ISO quality standards are also part of the job.
Responsibilities
Prepare samples and reagents for analysis.
Extract and isolate DNA for genotyping.
Conduct quality analysis prior to genotyping.
Perform molecular biology tasks and data generation.
Operate liquid handling automation machines and multichannel pipettes.
Generate and analyze initial data from laboratory techniques.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and sample archives.
Calibrate instruments and troubleshoot as needed.
Follow SOPs and support ISO procedures with quality standards.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and molecular biology.
Experience with DNA extraction and genotyping.
Ability to maintain accurate records and operate lab equipment.
Familiarity with SOPs and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, biology, or related sciences preferred.
Laboratory experience, particularly in molecular biology testing, is advantageous.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Teamwork and enjoyment of lab work.
Work Environment
The lab is a clean, modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art custom lab equipment. The work environment is dynamic, with the option to listen to music while working. The lab operates in shifts: Monday - Friday (Day: 6:30am - 3:00pm and Night: 2:00pm - 10:30pm), Sunday - Wednesday (Day: 5:00am - 3:30pm and Night: 1:00pm - 11:30pm), and Wednesday - Saturday (Day: 5:00am - 3:30pm and Night: 1:00pm - 11:30pm). Employees benefit from 1 week of PTO and 6 paid holidays after the first 30 days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr.
