We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Entry-Level Water Mitigation Technician to join our team. This hands-on, construction-related role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help people in need. You will play an essential role in helping homeowners and businesses recover from water-related damage while providing exceptional customer service.
Water Mitigation Technician Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- 1--2 years of construction experience experience required
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Must live within 30 miles of our office: 2622 Baty Rd., Lima, OH
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week when needed
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills when interacting with clients and team members
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; must supply your own basic tools
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
Water Mitigation Technician Job Duties:
- Respond to new assignments, meet with customers, and clearly explain project expectations.
- Assist with initial water damage assessments, job-site stabilization, and ongoing mitigation activities under the Water Department Project Manager.
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, and dehumidification using industry-standard equipment and IICRC guidelines.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust drying equipment including air movers and dehumidifiers.
- Help coordinate on-site activities and scheduling.
- Remove and dispose of damaged building materials (carpet, drywall, insulation, etc.).
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing questions and concerns professionally.
- Document job progress through photos, readings, contracts, and supply sheets.
- Safely operate company vehicles and transport equipment and materials.
- Maintain Water Department vehicles and equipment (cleaning, stocking, organizing).
- Assist with shop maintenance, inventory, and occasional facility-related tasks.
- Use hand and power tools to complete restoration tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company standards.
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours and weekend emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-training opportunities.
