Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Lexington, Massachusetts
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Lexington, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing and processing invoices, ensuring accurate account coding, and maintaining efficient payment operations. This role demands a high degree of precision and expertise in accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities:
• Review, verify, and process invoices while ensuring proper account coding and compliance with company policies.
• Handle payments through Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs to ensure timely disbursement.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and reconcile discrepancies.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address and resolve payment issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all payable activities.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing necessary accounts payable documentation.
• Monitor and update the accounts payable ledger to reflect accurate financial data.
• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency of payable operations.
• Prepare reports and summaries related to accounts payable for management review.
• Respond to inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account discrepancies with professionalism. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
• Strong knowledge of account coding and invoice processing.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and check runs.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with vendors and internal teams.
• Understanding of accounting principles and compliance regulations.
