Infinite Electronics International, Inc System Administrator in Lewisville, Texas
Position Description:
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operations of network servers and databases. The position is responsible for server updates, capacity, storage planning, and database performance as well as active resolution of issues to limit work disruptions within the company.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Advanced experience administering Linux/Unix systems, including configuration, performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting. Installing server updates and patches
Hands-on experience managing and supporting VMware virtualized environments (VM provisioning, host management, resource allocation, and troubleshooting).
Experience implementing and supporting Veeam Backup & Replication solutions, including backup configuration, monitoring, and recovery testing.
Working knowledge or hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly in infrastructure migration, virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity integration.
Maintain documentation on server architecture, local network plant, and various procedures
Provide documentation and technical specifications to Corporate IT staff for planning and implementing upgrades to the IT infrastructure
Maintain working relationships with members of the Corporate IT team and advocate for needs of the Albany facility
Coordinate with Corporate IT team and optical engineers to oversee upgrades and modifications of on-site systems
Coordinate with Corporate IT team to meet all cyber security requirements associated with servers, and user client devices
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
Prepare for disaster recovery and oversee server backups
Coordinate with Facilities on projects and power management
Maintain and install web and code-signing certificates
Maintain and troubleshoot label printers and label-printing software
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switching, and wireless infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and assist staff with audio-visual equipment
Maintain CCTV systems (IoT software and live video stream)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, develop and understand network schematics, designs, drawings, and manuals.
Skilled at time management and attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated individual able to work under minimal supervision in a team environment.
Education and/or Experience:
System administration experience/certifications in Linux and Microsoft required
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
Experience with scripting and automation tools
Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery

Physical Job Requirements:
Sitting: Must be able to sit for a minimum of 4 hours
Walking: Throughout the facility on a continuous basis
Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
Vision: Corrected 20/20 vision required
Talking/Hearing: Must be able to communicate on the telephone and video conferencing.
Environment: Onsite office and warehouse, occasionally hot or cold temperatures, moderate noise level.
