SHELTER SERVICE INC Case Manager in Lewistown, Pennsylvania

Good verbal and written communication skills required. Works with integrity and confidence, and be able to self motivate and work alone when needed.  Individual will work directly with our homeless consumers, doing intakes and helping to determine eligibility.  They will help clients determine the cause of their homelessness and help them create goals and a plan to improve their homeless situation.  The  Case Manager must track and record the plan and the progress and do data entry into local computer systems.  The CM will be responible for private case management meetings and group meetings to help clients learn to be better tenants and to make more informed decisions about their future.  Knowing the local community and information about local resources will be very helpful for this position.  The job is mainly day light but flexiblity for weekends may be needed in emergencies.   Experience with case management and secondary education would be helpful but not a deal breaker.
