City of Lewistown Recreation Trails Specialist in Lewistown, Montana
Wages and Benefits: The wage for the Recreation Trails Specialist position is $18.54/hour. It will be a half time position, working a maximum of 1040 hours per year. Hours will vary through the year, working more hours during the summer. Schedule to be worked out with Parks and Recreation Director. Benefits include prorated vacation and sick leave. Retirement optional based on hours worked. A probationary period of six months is required. Union membership is optional Position Summary: Serve as the Recreation Trails Specialist, with responsibility for general day-to-day management of the Lewistown Recreational Trails System. Essential Job Functions: This position will involve moderate to strenuous physical activity under possible adverse conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (greater with assistance). Requires employee to bend, stoop, climb, crawl, push, pull. Employee must have good finger dexterity for maintenance and repair, as well as good close and distance vision. Majority of work is done outside in many types of weather. Major areas of accountability and performance: In consultation with the Parks and Recreation Director the Recreation Trails Specialist shall plan and supervise the programs and activities of the trail system. Manage the normal, day to day operations of the trails system including maintenance, right of way issues, safety, repairs and improvements. Carry out the policies and instructions as developed by the Parks and Recreation Board. Follows and participates in executing, developing and operation of the trail system, as directed by the Director of Parks and Recreation. Responsible for working with other groups and contractors in order to promote and maintain the trail system. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervision: may supervise seasonal and volunteer employees Education, Training, and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Possession of appropriate Montana Operator's license.
