OLENTANGY LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Behavior Specialist in Lewis Center, Ohio
Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a *Behavior Specialist *position(s) available within Olentangy Schools for the 2026-27 school year. The behavior specialist helps students learn subject matters and skills that will facilitate maximum learning experiences and contribute to their development as mature, capable and responsible adults; create a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Contributes to the development of healthy, safe, and caring environment by understanding the emotional and social development of children. Implements behavioral intervention strategies within our building programs, assists in the collection of classroom and building data, monitors, documents, and compiles progress data. Conducts and supports Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), collaborates/creates Behavior Intervention Plans, strategies, and tools to support positive behavioral change/maintenance. Conducts and participates in ongoing training and staff development activities. [Qualified candidates will be employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) and must hold or be eligible for valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the Ohio State Department of Education and Workforce.]{.underline}
Employment status: Certified, 185-day employment contract
Qualifications for the position include:
- Valid State of Ohio teaching certificate/license
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university
- Other Considerations: 1) License to practice School Counseling, School Social Work 2) Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA) preferred 3) Licensed Intervention Specialist
- Experience working with outside agencies, schools, students and families
- Knowledge and experience with students with disabilities including those with emotional/behavioral disorders, Autism and other developmental disabilities
- Alternative to the above qualifications as Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
