Description:

The laminator operator's primary duty is to run lamination equipment efficiently and safely. They must ensure that the correct materials are used, the machine settings are accurate, and the final laminated product adheres to quality specifications and production schedules.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot lamination machines. This includes loading and unloading raw materials (such as paper rolls and film), adjusting machine settings like temperature and speed, and monitoring the lamination process to prevent defects.
  2. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on the laminated products. This includes inspecting for common issues like delamination, wrinkles, bubbles, or misalignment. The operator must also verify that the materials meet specified thickness, adhesion, and other quality standards.
  3. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the laminator, such as cleaning, lubricating, and making minor repairs. They must also report any major malfunctions or maintenance needs to a supervisor.
  4. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following guidelines for handling materials and operating machinery.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including data on materials used, production output, and any quality issues or machine downtime.


Qualifications:

  1. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  2. Experience: Previous experience as a laminator operator or in a related manufacturing role is often preferred.
  3. Skills:
  4. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of how machinery works and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
  5. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to identify product defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  6. Physical Stamina: The ability to lift heavy rolls of material and stand for extended periods.
  7. Math Skills: Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating production metrics.
  8. Work Environment: This role is typically in a manufacturing or factory setting. The environment may be noisy, and the operator may be exposed to chemicals, dust, or fumes, requiring the use of PPE.
