Steps to Success, Inc. Pre-Kindergarten Group Supervisor in Leola, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities: 1. Curriculum Development and Implementation: Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans and activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Lesson plans posted in Google Drive. Weekly plans include PA Early Learning Standards and individualization. 2. Child Observation and Documentation: Observing and documenting children's developmental milestones and progress, including creating FrogStreet portfolios of their work. 3. Classroom Management: Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment, fostering positive behavior, and managing group dynamics. 4. Parent Communication: Communicating regularly with parents about their child's progress, attending parent-teacher conferences, and providing feedback. 5. Personal Care: Depending on the setting, providing basic care like diaper changes, meal preparation, and assisting with potty training. 6. Supervision and Safety: Directly supervising children at all times, ensuring their safety, and addressing any potential hazards. 7. Collaborative Practices: Collaborating with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational program.
Duties: 1. Daily experiences shall recognize the child as an individual and give some choice of activities that respect personal privacy, lifestyle and cultural background from the opening to the closing of the center. 2. Complete attendance and meal count sheets. 3. Oversee the completion of cleaning responsibilities. 4. Complete safety inspections. 5. Complete student and program assessments. 6. Coordinate activities of the assistant group supervisor (AGS) and the aides. 7. All responsibilities listed for Group Supervisors in the state regulations and center responsibilities as posted in each room. 8. Compliance with PA Code 55:3270 and Keystone STARS quality initiatives. 9. Designate staff persons who are responsible for compliance in the Site Director's absence. 10. In accordance with 55 PA Code Sec. 3270.35(e), a GS is required for each group of 45 enrolled children.
*Education: *
- Master's degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university
- Master's degree in Educational Business Management
Experience:
- 3 years of experience with children
- 1 year experience with older toddlers
Skills:
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Brightwheel & GroupMe apps
- ability to create a safe and inclusive environment
- experience with classroom management techniques are crucial
Certifications:
- Four required PA clearances:
- State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, National Sex Offender Registry
