ABOUT THE ROLE Join the staff of one of the world\'s most prestigious music festivals as the TMC Administrative Assistant and Copland Librarian! This role is the central point of contact for the Tanglewood Music Center (TMC) office, managing daily administrative, logistical, and financial matters. This role serves as the \"first line\" of TMC response in addressing routine questions and keeping track of day-to-day business issues. Additionally, as the Copland Librarian, you will also distribute, coordinate, and collect chamber music for TMC Fellows and Faculty throughout the summer. This is a perfect position for an aspiring arts administrator (especially with an interest in instrumental chamber music) at the beginning of their career or an experienced orchestral musician dipping a first toe in the administrative world. RESPONSIBILITIES TMC Administrative Office - Answer a high volume of phone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from Fellows, Faculty, Staff, and the public. - Assist in day-to-day office tasks including ticket requests, sorting mail, and ordering office supplies. - Provide clerical support for the TMC staff as necessary. - Manage the TMC\'s online booking system for practice rooms and other on campus resources for Fellows. - Perform short errands and transportation to and from concerts and receptions for faculty, staff and guests of the TMC as necessary. - Assist with the set up and tear down of parties for Fellows at Miss Hall\'s School. - Other duties as assigned. Copland Library - Prepare and distribute all chamber music parts for works scheduled to be performed throughout the summer. - Coordinate the pickup and return of chamber music parts and scores for faculty, Fellows, and community members from the Copland Library. - Collect and catalogue all parts at the end of the season, securing the collection for future use. Qualifications - Must be extremely organized, efficient, and able to field and prioritize different types of inquiries and requests while maintaining a positive attitude. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills, as well as outstanding attention to detail. - Ability to establish and maintain confidence among staff, Fellows, and faculty. - Willingness to work occasional long or unconventional hours. - Must be able to work well as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment. - Valid driver\'s license and a car. - Prior office experience in an administrative role. - Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. - Experience in photography / video as well as with applications such as Canva and Final Cut Pro a plus. - Marketing, advertising, an/or social media knowledge and experience. - Familiarity with Tanglewood and classical music.
