Job Title: Fleet Mechanic
Job Description
Fleet Mechanics perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles according to DOT and OSHA regulations, with a specific focus on medium and heavy-duty diesel tractor and trailer maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.
Perform preventative maintenance within the fleet department.
Respond to service calls as required.
Create work orders in SAP and ensure working times and tasks are logged into the computer, as well as stock parts pulled from inventory.
Maintain tools and clean up the work area before the end of the shift.
Participate in and adhere to the required safety training.
Support departments by communicating out-of-service vehicles and downtimes.
Essential Skills
Expertise in diesel engine repair and fleet maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Experience with airbrake systems and fleet vehicles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of airbrake and electrical systems and components is preferred.
Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
Valid CDL Class A Driver's License is preferred.
May be required to supply automotive hand tools.
Prior experience using a pallet jack or forklift is preferred.
Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification upon hire is required.

Work Environment
Work in a diesel truck shop environment attached to the warehouse, with two technicians on each shift. This opening is for the second shift, from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lenexa, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $70720.00/yr.
